SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO SIX TOP LOCAL STUDENTS
Posted: Friday 31 December, 2004
Qamea Resort & Spa is pleased to announce that it has awarded full scholarships to the top six students of the local village public school at Naviivi, to attend private boarding school in order to complete high school. The scholarships include full tuition, plus books, uniforms, and all boarding fees - and are renewable each year upon completion of satisfactory grades. In addition to the scholarships, the resort is offering employment to all the scholarship recipients during their school breaks in order to gain practical work experience.
"We are proud and honored to be in a position to offer scholarships to the top students in the village," said co-owner Bryce Earwaker. "This is just one of the opportunities that we have to 'give back' to the local community for all the support that we have received from our island villages which has been the major contributor to making our resort a success." "We plan to continue our scholarship program each year by awarding the top students with an opportunity to attain higher education," said Earwaker.
